A couple days ago my humans got me a hula hoop! They got it for me so I can practice the tire jump with it. When Lizzy first showed it to me, I was so excited!
"Oh boy! A hula hoop! My tire!" I ran towards it, but then something very unexpected happened. Lizzy lifted up the hula hoop, and it made a noise! A scary noise! It sounded like there were beans inside the hula hoop, and they made a rattling noise whenever Lizzy shook it! But, of course, I know better than to think it was beans inside it. After all, who would be dumb enough to put beans inside a hula hoop? So that's when I knew that it was something worse. Something much, much worse. There was a rattling monster inside that hula hoop! And if I jumped through, it would swallow me up!
I quickly turned myself around, and ran back towards the kitchen. My tail automatically went down really low, (It does that when I'm scared or guilty of something) and I tried to hide in a corner of the kitchen.
And guess what Lizzy did? She laughed at me! How could she? She always laughs at me when I'm really scared. Hey, I don't laugh at her when she's scared! So why does she pick on me? She said, "What a silly doggie you are, Sparky! You silly willy, you! There's nothing to be afraid of."
Oh yes, there is something to be afraid of. There is a rattling monster in that hula hoop, in my tire, and it's gonna swallow me up!
Lizzy eventually found out that it was the rattling I was afraid of. So, to my relief, she got out a big knife.
"Kill it, Lizzy! Kill the rattling monster!" I barked.
Lizzy started cutting the hula hoop. She sawed the giant knife back and forth, back and forth. Finally, the hula hoop broke open, and out poured... BEANS? That's not supposed to happen! There's no beans in hula hoops! Where's the rattling monster?
Lizzy called me over to sniff out the hula hoop. I went over and sniffed.... it smelled like beans. Okay, maybe there wasn't a rattling monster. Maybe it wouldn't have swallowed me up. Maybe I shouldn't have been scared. At least I'll know for next time.
And now? I am a very embarrassed pooch. But, at least I can jump though my hula hoop! Here's a few pictures of me jumping through. They're kinda blurry, but they'll have to do for now.
Here I am, just taking off!

Woo, look at me go!

I'm flying!

Well, I gotta go. It's time for me to find a new hiding place, because Lizzy is gonna bath me tonight, and I need to hide!
