New Blog Design

Okay, so I get Lizzy to help me change the blog design just a little bit, and what happens? Poof! It disappears. So, then I had to get Lizzy to help me make a totally new skin! It took forever, and it's still just not quite right. Lizzy is too tired to change it any more now, so this will have to do. I think it looks okay, but I liked the last one better. What to you think?

A couple days ago my humans got me a hula hoop! They got it for me so I can practice the tire jump with it. When Lizzy first showed it to me, I was so excited!
"Oh boy! A hula hoop! My tire!" I ran towards it, but then something very unexpected happened. Lizzy lifted up the hula hoop, and it made a noise! A scary noise! It sounded like there were beans inside the hula hoop, and they made a rattling noise whenever Lizzy shook it! But, of course, I know better than to think it was beans inside it. After all, who would be dumb enough to put beans inside a hula hoop? So that's when I knew that it was something worse. Something much, much worse. There was a rattling monster inside that hula hoop! And if I jumped through, it would swallow me up!
I quickly turned myself around, and ran back towards the kitchen. My tail automatically went down really low, (It does that when I'm scared or guilty of something) and I tried to hide in a corner of the kitchen.
And guess what Lizzy did? She laughed at me! How could she? She always laughs at me when I'm really scared. Hey, I don't laugh at her when she's scared! So why does she pick on me? She said, "What a silly doggie you are, Sparky! You silly willy, you! There's nothing to be afraid of."
Oh yes, there is something to be afraid of. There is a rattling monster in that hula hoop, in my tire, and it's gonna swallow me up!
Lizzy eventually found out that it was the rattling I was afraid of. So, to my relief, she got out a big knife.
"Kill it, Lizzy! Kill the rattling monster!" I barked.
Lizzy started cutting the hula hoop. She sawed the giant knife back and forth, back and forth. Finally, the hula hoop broke open, and out poured... BEANS? That's not supposed to happen! There's no beans in hula hoops! Where's the rattling monster?
Lizzy called me over to sniff out the hula hoop. I went over and sniffed.... it smelled like beans. Okay, maybe there wasn't a rattling monster. Maybe it wouldn't have swallowed me up. Maybe I shouldn't have been scared. At least I'll know for next time.
And now? I am a very embarrassed pooch. But, at least I can jump though my hula hoop! Here's a few pictures of me jumping through. They're kinda blurry, but they'll have to do for now.

Here I am, just taking off!

Well, I gotta go. It's time for me to find a new hiding place, because Lizzy is gonna bath me tonight, and I need to hide!

Tagged Again!

Today I have been tagged by Precious! I have to type seven pawesome things about myself! And then I have to tag 7 other doggies.

Okay, let me think... 7 pawesome things about myself are...

1. I am king of the neighborhood! I own it all. I roam it freely, and explore other people's back yards, and chase their cats. (However, Lizzy doesn't like me roaming the neighborhood by myself. I have to sneak outside when she's not looking!)

2. I am almost 6 years old, yet I am as healthy and playful as a puppy!

3. I am a great guard dog. I bark whenever people come into our yard, and I protect my humans, and make sure no one steals anything belonging to my family. (Except in the middle of the night when I let the burglars break into our cars)

4. I am great at scaring cats! I sneak up behind them very very quietly, and then I bark super loud! The cats usually jump at least 4 feet into the air, and then they run away.

5. I can be a great singer. At camp everyone was singing around the camp fire, and I started howling to join in.

6. I am a fantastic smoocher! I know how to wait until just the right moment, then I attack someone with kisses in the mouth! I think it should be a lovely surprise for someone, but for some reason they find it not too pleasing.

7. I am really good at hiding human food! My favorite place to hide food when guests are over is in their shoes. Only problem is, when the guests leave, so do their shoes, and so my food goes with them! Also, sometimes Lizzy catches me hiding food in guests shoes. A few days ago I was hiding some cow bones in the shoes, and Lizzy saw me snuffling around and asked what I was doing. So I quickly stuffed all the cow bones into my mouth, closed my mouth and looked up at Lizzy and gave her my biggest smile (With my mouth closed, of course. Otherwise Lizzy would see the bones in it). But, unfortunately, Lizzy noticed that I had awfully big cheeks, so she knew I had something in my mouth. I put my head back down and tried to sneak away, but Lizzy grabbed me and made me spit out the bones.

Well, there's the 7 pawesome things! Now I shall tag...

Baily
Spider
T-man
Sweets
Peanut
Mia
Frasier

I hope you all enjoyed reading my 7 pawesome things about myself!

Nice, Warm Sun...

Yesterday was a very hot day. The beautiful sun was out and it warmed everything up! I loved it. I went outside onto the deck to soak in the warmth of the sun. Lizzy thought I looked cute so she took some pictures...

Here I am, looking at the camera.
Sparky

Ahhh, the sun feels so good!
Sparkysun

I think I'll have a nice little nap in the sun...

Zzzzzzzzzz...
May 24, 2007

I woke up a second later because one of the cats in my family meowed, so I chased her for interrupting my sleep.

Today is actually even warmer than yesterday, but the clouds are covering the sun so it doesn't shine on me when I'm sleeping on the deck. But maybe the clouds will go away soon!

Agility Practice

Guess what? Today Lizzy got out some of our agility equipment, and we practiced a lot! I did the jump, the tunnel and the weave. Tomorrow is our last agility class, so I won't be having anymore classes until Fall when I'm gonna get into higher training. So Lizzy is gonna practice agility with me at home during the summer!
Today Lizzy took lots and lots of pictures. That was fine with me, because every time she took a picture of me doing a piece of equipment she'd give me a treat. Here's some of the pictures...

The jump is one of my favorites!

Look at me fly!

Tagged!

I've been tagged by Snowy and Crystal to show my tummy! It was quite easy, because Lizzy gave me tummy rubs so I had no problem showing off my tummy. Here's a couple pictures! (Lizzy made me lie down beside White Cat because she thought it looked cute, but White Cat didn't really like me intruding his beauty sleep)

You can barely see my legs because they blend in with the rest of my fur. Lizzy says I look just like a ball of brown fluff!

Now, I'm going to tag...

1. Jemma! It's about time she updates. (http://jemmathechihuahua.blogspot.com)
2. Toby (http://tobylittledude.blogspot.com/)
3. Ellie and Riley (http://ellieandriley.blogspot.com/)

Fun In Agility Class Today...

I had a great time today at agility class! When we first got there, I was very excited as usual, and wanted to greet every single dog. Then when we sat down, Lizzy told me to sit but I was very excited and couldn't sit no matter how hard I tried! What made things even more exciting it that just then, Toby and his human walked in and sat down right beside Lizzy and I! Toby is the big Border Collie X that I always wanted to meet, but he usually sits on the other side of the big room than where we usually sit. But this time, he was right beside me! I was very excited, (and so was he) so we did what we all do to greet each other - sniff each other's butts.
"Hmm, very nice butt you got there, Toby," I said.
"Why thank you! And yours is too." He replied. "It smells very sweet. Did you just get a bath or something?"
"Yes I did. And-"
"Sparky! Come sit!" Lizzy jerked my leash towards her.
Just one moment Lizzy! One more sniff! "So, Toby, I can smell other things on your butt... In fact, let me just... hold on..." I leaned forward and started licking his butt. The smell was so nice, I just had to taste it. "Oh my, Toby! Your butt tastes just like-"
"SPARKY! Get over here!" Lizzy jerked my leash over, quite hard this time. Toby's human started giggling and Lizzy's face turned red.
Just then our agility instructor called me up to be first to try out the course! Lizzy took off my leash, and we walked to the start.
"Sit, Sparky."
"Why? I can stand, can't I? I'm too excited to sit!"
"Sparky, sit!"
I sat for just one second, then jumped back up because I was too excited. Lizzy just shook her head and then started running toward the first pieces of equipment, calling them out by name. Of course, I am so fast that her brain can't keep up, and she starts calling things different names or doesn't call them anything at all. I was headed towards the tunnel when she yelled, "Shoo, no, er, ju, I mean, tir, uh.. Tunnel!" By the time she said it I was already through and onto my next piece of equipment.
But just then, I decided to put on a show. I wanted to make things different... just for a little fun, you know? So I turned around and started barking at Lizzy. I barked, and barked, and barked. Everyone else watching laughed. I liked it. So I barked more.
"Sparky! What are you doing, you silly dog? I don't have anything for you, now go A-frame!"
I barked all the harder. Then I turned toward the A-frame, and ran full blast toward it, (barking all the while) and just before I got to it I quickly switched directions, took a very high flying leap, and landed right on top of the tunnel, making it roll over and collapse. Everyone started laughing, and I felt very proud of myself.
The instructor looked very shocked, and said, "What happened to the Star of my class?!"
Lizzy just shrugged as she grabbed me and pulled me back towards the A-frame again. She tried to look mad at me, but I noticed a few giggles slipped out. She can never actually for real get mad at me, but she pretends she can.
Anyway, I wasn't finished my show, so when Lizzy yelled out the next piece of equipment (The teeter) I ran towards it, and touched the very beginning and then took another flying leap right of the beginning of the teeter and landed on the floor a few feet away in the opposite direction. Then I turned around and barked at Lizzy some more. She made me try again, so I touched the beginning of the teeter and then jumped backwards and landed a few feet away again. This was quite fun.
However, I decided to leave with having successfully done each peice of equipment. So for the third try on the teeter, I did it perfectly. And right after, I turned around and barked at Lizzy some more until she gave me a treat back at our seats.
Lizzy looked very shocked. "I've never seen him this crazy in agility before! Sparky, what is with you today?"
Ahh... nothing like havin' a bit of fun during agility.
