I'd Just Like To Say...

MERRY CHRISTMAS Every dog! (Okay, and every human too! Oh, and hamsters! Okay, okay, even the cats!)

1 Week!

Now it's just one more week 'till Christmas! I'm still waiting for Lizzy to put my presents under the tree so I can take a "peek" at them. I promise I won't shred them this time, Lizzy!

While I wait, (for either Christmas or my presents, whichever comes first) I'll sing this song... (Oh, and I did not write this song, I just found it on the Small Dog Forum)

Marking Around the Christmas Tree

Marking around The Christmas Tree
What a doggie holiday
Just doing what comes naturally
Even though it's Christmas Day

Marking around The Christmas Tree
Gotta squirt each present twice
Spreading our scent on all this stuff
It's a doggie paradise

There may be some screaming when the humans rise at dawn
(but remember)
Grandma wraps her gifts in plastic
Hey - come on - it's nothing drastic

Marking around the Christmas tree
We just do what boy dogs do
Doing our duty gracefully
And we'll share our loot with you

Marking around the Christmas tree
All precautions were in vain
We must own everything we see
So we stake our doggie claim

Marking around the Christmas tree
We don't see the problem here
But if we're caught we know that we
Will be dragged off by the ear

People shout and tell us we are evil little curs
(but remember)
We're not trying to be snotty
YOU installed this indoor potty

Marking around the Christmas Tree
Gonna check our list off twice
When Santa visits, we know he
Can just sniff out who is NICE!

I'm still keeping my eye on that Rascal cat.

She's been staring at that tree for a long time now. She's probably trying to figure the best way to to climb up and catch that "bird" (angel) on the top of the tree.

Rascal's not the only one staring at that tree. Marble also seems to be waiting for the right moment to scramble up and knock everything down.

I have to keep one eye on each of them. It's a tough job, you know.

I'm just glad White Cat is too fat and lazy to climb any tree! Otherwise I'd need three eyes!

8 More Days...

It's gotten warm again, it went up to 9 degrees Celsius yesterday. The ice on the pond has melted, so that means so more ice skating for me. By the way, I'd just like to thank you all for being concerned about me on the frozen pond. It shows that you all really would care about what happens to me if I would happen to break through the ice. However, if Lizzy thought it wasn't safe, there's no way she would let me on the pond (Though I might have tried anyways, he he). To help you all feel better, the ice was a few inches thick and actually could, in fact, hold Lizzy. However, when Lizzy stood on it, it started to crack so she got off pretty quickly. But I, being only 20 pounds (100 less than Lizzy) could really fly on that ice. There's no way it's gonna break under me! The pond is also only a couple feet deep. And if I did somehow happen to fall through, there's hundreds of houses right by the pond, and I could just go choose one to warm up inside, he he. Well now that I've said this, hopefully none of you will be scared anymore to see me running on the ice.

I have finally sent out the last few cards! Now I need to get on all those e-cards I need to send to most of you... Can you believe it's only 8 more days 'till Christmas? It's coming so fast!

I found one of my presents under the Christmas tree!

Only one present for me?! Well, the truth is, Lizzy won't put my other presents under the tree until the day before Christmas. You might be wondering why... Well, let's just say I once tried to take a little peek at my presents early one year. Okay, it was more than a peek. Okay, I might have shred up all my presents. But I've learned my lesson. So Lizzy, will you please put all my presents back under the tree this year? I'll be good, I'll only do a little peek this time.

And while I wait to shred them, I'll stare up at the tree.

We've got lots of nice decorations on the tree. Beads, pine cones, candy canes, ...

Wooden teddy bears, Christmas lights, little things that I cannot remember the names of, ...

We've even got the angel on the top of the tree!

I think Rascal thinks the angel is a bird on top of the tree. Unlike White Cat (Fatso), Rascal will actually climb up that tree to catch that "bird". I'd better guard that tree and make sure she doesn't wreck the decorations!
Hmm... There's just one thing left that is missing on that tree... I know! A little doggy pee to mark it as mine! I'll even mark it extra for my humans, too! (For some odd reason they don't mark anything themselves, except my water bowl!) I'll go add that last thing now.

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It... Ice?

Well, almost every day now we get rain mixed with snow. And the rain melts the snow. So, of course, the snow doesn't stick to the ground. And with no snow on the ground, life can be dull... But, when it's sunny outside, it gets colder! But of course it can't snow when there are no clouds, but I discovered something almost as much fun as snow.

Pavement?! Guess again. I know it looks like I'm walking on the road, but...

Do you see all those lily pads behind me? I don't think lily pads grow on pavement very well.

Yup, the pond up the hill has frozen over!

Here I am barking at Lizzy to put the stupid camera away and throw the ball.

She didn't put the stupid camera away, but she did throw the ball.

I'm getting in lots of good practice for Butchy and Snickers ice skating party!

When it was time to go back home, I decided to take a rest on the island in the middle of the pond. There's no way I'm going back home yet. The ice isn't thick enough for the humans to walk on yet, so they can't go out to the island and get me. He he.

It's just 10 more days until Christmas! Oh dear, I still have 3 more cards to make. I'd better tell Lizzy to get on them while I go play with my ball.

Have a good weekend everydog!

15 Days 'Till Christmas

Christmas is coming fast! It's just 2 more weeks away! I received 6 more cards in the mail today. Now I have 26 all together. Lizzy finally just started hanging them up on the wall in our room. Speaking of cards, I still have about 10 more I need Lizzy to make and mail. She's taking forever! Some of you might get some late cards...

Today the mailman was wondering why I get so much mail these days. He said I get more than he does! I think he's quite scared. Some of you have been wondering what's going on between the mailman and I... Well, it all started a few years ago. I can't believe we've had the same mailman for so long! But anyway, you know how we all like to bark at any strange (Or even non-strange!) people that come to our door? Well, when Lizzy and I were in the front yard one day, I saw the mailman come into our yard with the mail, and I ran to him and barked at him. I'd never bite him, though. I just like to bark at people. And it's especially fun when they're people that are scared of dogs. It freaks them out when I bark! He he. But anyway, this mailman is the scaredest of dogs guy you'll ever meet. I always keep a few feet away from people who are scared of me, but this mailman was so scared that he got out the pepper spray and starting spraying at me! I don't even know what pepper spray is, but Lizzy gasped when she realized what it was, and I can tell she doesn't like it. So, while he sprayed at me, I still barked and dodged back in forth. I missed every single spray, he he! But in the middle of the game, Lizzy grabbed my collar and dragged me away. A few days later, I was outside with Lizzy again. The mailman came into our yard, and I decided to play the game again! So I barked at him, and he sprayed at me, and missed every time. But do you know what's really funny? He dances! When I bark at him and he sprays, he also kinda jumps up and down and kicks out towards me, doing this funny kind of jig. Lizzy said he was trying to kick me without getting too close to me, 'cause he was afraid I would bite him. What?! I thought we were playing a game! Kicking in a game isn't fair! The next day the mailman didn't come at all. Someone else came and gave us a letter that said something about us not getting any mail for a month, and I would have to stay inside all day every day, and due to many serious injuries from myself to the mailman, he would be allowed to sue us if I bite him one more time. Now that, is one scaredy-cat. The mailman, that is. I didn't even touch him! In fact, the guy who delivered the letter saying all this wanted to see me, and I gave him lots of extra kisses because he was a nice mailman. He doesn't think I would bite anyone. Anyway, the years went by, and we found out that it's not only me the mailman is scared of. He hates every dog in the neighborhood! We've met tons of people who were upset with this mailman, 'cause he wouldn't deliver their mail because he thought their dogs were "vicious". Just this last summer, I was playing with the Maltese neighbor, Keda. We saw the mailman and ran up and barked at him, and he did his little jig again, trying to kick both of us at once. Keda's family got in trouble the next day. I kinda felt bad for leading her into the mailman game. Well, now that I've been getting all these letters and cards from you all, I think the mailman might have a heart attack! I was thinking, maybe all the neighborhood dogs and I should make a Christmas card for him with all our pictures on it, and say, "From your most favorite dogs, Sparky and the neighborhood pooches". I'd give anything to see the expression on his face.

Well, enough of all the mailman talk. I was awarded this golden rose by Amber! Thank you Amber!
I think I will now give it to two of the most beautiful dogs in the world, Tasha and Eva!

Today we went for a walk up the hill to the pond again. It snowed a tiny bit yesterday, it's just barely noticeable. The pond is completely frozen over now, and you wouldn't believe how much fun I had chasing after my ball across the pond! It sure is slippery! At least I'm getting in lots of practice for Butchy and Snicker's ice skating pond party!

They other day something horrible happened. Lizzy was taking me for a walk, and I stopped to check my pee mail on a pole. Lizzy pulled on my leash and jerked me away, saying, "Come on Sparky, keep going!" I thought, Hey, Lizzy! What do you think you're doing? Then I had a horrible thought. Do you think you OWN ME?! I just couldn't believe it. What are these humans thinking these days?! They're silly creatures, I tell you!

7 Annoyances

Hi everydog, I've been tagged by both Happy and Serena to list seven things that annoy me. When I'm done, I'm supposed to tag 7 more doggies to do this tag. Well, here goes... 7 things that annoy me...

1. The cats, duh.
2. The mailman. He's a very naughty one. It's a long story, I might tell it later.
3. I get annoyed when my humans don't give me their food.
4. I get annoyed when little kids crawl all over me.
5. Baths. Those can annoy me.
6. Little sticks and rocks stuck in my pads. It takes almost an eternity of licking and chewing to get them out.
7. I get annoyed when Lizzy won't lift up her blanket at night so I can crawl under where it's warm.

The computer is very slow today. Well, it's always very slow, but this time it's slower than very slow, which, believe me, is very, very, very slow. So, because it's so slow, I'm not going to tag any dogs because it will take a while to go to their blogs and tell them they were tagged. So, whoever wants to be tagged, you're tagged!

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

(Oh, by the way, we haven't gotten anymore snow yet. But the pond up the hill froze over! It's getting colder!)

Snow, Come and Gone.

So guess what happened over here on the weekend? It snowed! I was so excited! Look at it all!

Isn't it great? We finally got snow!
I had so much fun playing in it! This is what I looked like when I came inside after. Unfortunately most of the snow had melted off my face before Lizzy took this, but you can still see how snowy I am!

Ahhh... What a great weekend I had. I just love the snow.

However, today we had a tropical rainstorm, the Pineapple Express. All the snow is gone! It melted already! It's 13 degrees. And it's raining, hard. There's floods everywhere. But we had a day of snow, so I'm happy.

I hope everyone else had a great weekend too!
