A New Friend

A couple days ago I walked my humans up to the park by the pond again. It's hard to believe that just a little while ago we got a foot of snow, but this week the temperature been anywhere between 15 and 20 degrees (Celsius) in the beautiful sunlight! It feels good to have summer just around the corner again.

At the park I met a new friend. Her name is Abby, and she's a pretty Goldendoodle!

She was kinda fun to play with, but to tell you the truth, I prefered playing with my orange ball.

So I chased after my ball, and Abby chased after me. I'm not sure if she wanted me or my ball...

But she never actually caught up to me. I can outrun any dog, hee hee. If she wants my ball, there's no way I'm gonna let her have it!

After a while, Abby's human decided to take Abby home. So she left, and I was able to play ball by myself again. But just when my humans were getting ready to try to take me home, guess who appeared out of no where? Abby! And guess what she did? She got my ball!

I wasn't prepared at all for Abby to just show up and take my ball! Turns out that as soon as she got home, her human turned her back on Abby for just one second, and Abby came strait back to the park when her human wasn't looking. After a few minutes Abby's mom came back and found Abby with me and my ball. So Abby went home again, and I got my ball back. But as soon as I got my ball back, we had to go home. Oh well, hopefully I can play with my orange ball longer next time.

Thank you Ben Benjamin for giving me the Funky Blog award! I feel honored!

I would now like to give this award to Cashew and to Velcro!

Quick, Run and Hide! It's BATH Time!

I was having such a wonderful moment! One of my humans had just come home from shopping all day, and I was so happy and excited! Nothing could be better than having one of my loved ones come home again!

I bounced with joy,
And found my toy,

And ran around all barky!

'Twas a wonderful day,
Until Lizzy did say,
"Come for a bath now, Sparky!"

Like my poem? I wrote it myself! Hee hee.

Anyway, that last line, it totally ruined everything. I was having a wonderful moment, when all of a sudden my human Lizzy called me for a bath. I stopped everything I was doing, dropped my toy, and hid. Unfortunately, I can never hide good enough.

Lizzy found me hiding in the cupboard with the towels.

I got plunked into the tub, and Lizzy started the water running. It's time... my doom has come...
I am now, what you might call, a very soggy doggy.

Do you know what's even worse than having a bath?...

...Having a cat watch you have a bath.
Rascal decided to come watch me in my pathetic moment. She thought I looked hilarious. She wouldn't stop teasing me. I felt so embarrassed, I could have just melted down the drain.
Am I done my bath yet?

Please, can I get out now?
Finally! Lizzy wrapped me up in a warm towel to help dry me off. I would've much preferred running up and down the carpeted hallway with my head smushed into the floor. That's the best way for a dog to dry off.

Notice how my eyes are glowing a deep red?... That's 'cause I'm no longer embarrassed about having Rascal laugh at me, but now I'm angry. I'm thinking up an evil plan... I should catch her and eat her up for dinner.

Picture Day...

Hi everydog, sorry I haven't blogged for a few days. Life has been busy, and can you believe it, sunny. For the last few days the sun has decided to come out, and all the clouds are gone! Yes, that means no more snow, but it also mean no more rain! My toenail doesn't bother me anymore (though it still has a big crack in it, and we're not sure if it'll ever completely heal over) and it feels great to run outside again!

Today my human Lizzy decided to take me outside to get some pictures of me. It was such a beautiful day, I thought, "Why take photos of me when you can play with me instead?". So, of course, I didn't cooperate with Lizzy very much.

She said, "Sparky, smile!"

How about I stick out my tongue a little bit instead?

"Sparky, stop tilting your head! You're gonna drop the cookie!"

Exactly my plan, Lizzy. Drop the cookie, then pick it up and eat it.

"Sparky, pay attention!

Why can't we just have some fun and play ball?

"Sparky, hold still!

Yawn. Just put the camera away, Lizzy...

"Sparky, stop rolling your eyes at me! Look at the camera!"

Ugh... Would someone just please take that camera away from her....

"Sparky, I've had it with you! Stop goofing around! What I want it a nice, sweet smile! No rolling eyes and no tongues sticking out! Do a nice smile for me, Sparky. I deserve one. After all, it is my birthday!"

What?! Oh man, you're right! Sorry Lizzy, I forgot it was your special day. I'll cooperate with you just this once. But for the next 364 days, we'll do things my way again.

Here's a smile for you, Lizzy.

Happy Birthday to my human Lizzy, who now has 15 candles on her cake! (Er, I mean 15 candles on what was her cake. Burp!)

White Cat Wednesday

Hey everyone, it's me. White Cat. Yes, I still know the stupid mutt's password. Yes, I still have my evil plan to take over his whole blog. Yes, the mutt doesn't even know I'm on his blog. I am smart.

I have decided to take over the blog in just small steps. After all, I still need my eating time and my sleeping time, so I can't take over the whole blog at once! So, my first step, was to make one day a week MY day. So, that's why I just came up with "White Cat Wednesday". And NO, I am NOT using "Fat Cat Friday"! I'm not fat. Just a little pudgy. That's all.

Sigh...

I still can't play in the snow very much. Lizzy did take me for a walk, but she didn't let me run around after my ball in the snow. Do you have any idea how horrible it is to stay inside, day after day, and watch the snow slowly melt away? We got a lot of it, over 12 inches, but now it's half gone already!

We found out what was wrong with my paw. I actually didn't cut it on a piece of ice. And it wasn't my toe on my paw that hurt, but it was actually my nail on my toe on my paw that hurt. Turns out, last time I went for a haircut, the groomers forgot to clip one of my toenails. So my nail was really long, and it curled around and kinda dug into my paw, and it was all crushed and cracked near the top where it grows out from my toe. My humans decided to trim my nail back to it's normal length, and then let the crushed and cracked part grow out, and then trim it off again. So Lizzy and her dad held me down, while Lizzy's mom got out the doggy nail clippers. She put the clippers around my claw, and got ready to squeeze. Lizzy and her dad held on to me very tight. I had a feeling this would hurt...

Clip!

AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOooooooooooooooo! HOOOOOWWWwwllll!

Yes, it did hurt. A lot. I had yanked my paw back just as my nail was being clipped, so my whole nail ripped off from the top where it had been crushed. Now I have a very short, funny looking nail.

I do feel so much better now, though! I can walk comfortably again! But it'll take a while for my nail to grow back in, and I have to stay inside most of the time so that I don't get dirt inside my nail, so it doesn't get infected.

Here's a picture of me, from my short walk the other day. I wish I could play on the pond behind me before it melts, but I think I'll have to wait 'till next year...

Oh well. I hope you're all having a great week so far!
