A Real Green Dog

Hello every dog! Sorry I haven't been able to update or visit your blogs much for the last few days. We've been having internet troubles, but it's all fixed now!

Before I get on to the green dog story, I'll just tell you a little about the fun I had at the park the other day...

My humans threw my ball for me over and over again, so I had a blast chasing after it! You can tell how much I enjoyed running by the smile on my face, hee hee.

Once I get the ball, I come running back so my humans can throw it for me again.

The best way to cool off after playing a game of ball is to jump in the pond. Once I'm up to my belly in the water, all I have to do is open my mouth so the water will pour in. That way I don't have to do the work to lap up the water!

Now look at this goose I found at the pond... He is one weird goose! He thinks he's a dog, see? He's scratching himself just like us dogs do!

I decided to get a little closer to him... You know, just in case he is a dog, I just want to say hello, right? But this was the scary part... I realized he wasn't a dog, but he was a CAT! He hissed at me! And let me tell ya, that goose/dog/cat has a very scary hiss! I decided if he's gonna be that grumpy, I'd better leave him alone.

Meanwhile, Keda just sunbathed. She came to the park too, but she's wasn't allowed off the leash. She tends to get a little, um... what's the word...? "Vicious" is what the mailman says. She doesn't really like men and big dogs for some reason.

After I finished drinking up the pond, I hopped out and was ready for another game of ball!

Now, let me tell you what happened yesterday...

Keda and I were both in the backyard while my human Lizzy was experimenting with her camera, taking pictures of flowers. While she did that, Keda and I hopped into the garden and trampled all the beautiful plants as we grazed like cows. Mmmm, yummy flowers. My human Lizzy continued taking pictures of different flowers while we grazed.

Eventually, I noticed Keda wasn't grazing beside me anymore. I didn't think much of it at the time, I just thought she strolled into the next garden to start devouring the plants there, too. So I continued grazing in my own garden...

But then! There was this smell! Oh, it was a heavenly, glorious smell! Where was it? What did it come from? Man, let me tell ya, I have never smelled anything so good in my life!

My human Lizzy stopped fiddling with her camera, her nose scrunched up, and said, "Ooooh, what is that AWFUL smell?!"

Okay, so we dogs and humans think quite differently, but I think that smell was wonderful. Anyway, we both searched for that awful/wonderful smell, and then I saw it! In the corner of the yard, a very green head poked out of a pile of, well... I'm not sure if you want to know what the pile consisted of, but I'll tell you... It was grass, mold, and poop. And right away when I saw the green head poke out of the grass, mold, and poop, I knew it was Keda! Man, did she ever know where the best perfume was to roll in!

Right away Lizzy called her out, and she came trotting over looking very pleased with herself. She was a green dog. And she smelled wonderful. I don't think she could have had a prouder moment.

Though Lizzy was just about ready to put a clothes pin on her nose, she decided she might as well take some pictures to show Keda's humans when they come back.

Don't you think she looks lovely? The green flower pinned in her hair really matches her new green fur.

Unfortunately, this led to...

...this. Keda was not very happy.

Oh well. At least she got to be green for a few minutes! I don't think she thinks it was worth it now, though. She had the longest bath ever. Poor girl.

What's wrong with a little face painting!? I do it all the time. Drives my mom crazy too but you guys seem to have the really good stuff. Jealous I am!

Sparky: you always have the best facial expressions in photos. My mom just loves them! :)

Hi Sparky,
Thanks for coming by my blog. I am sure you won't ruin your reputation knowing me and being my friend. I have lots and lots of doggie friends and I even posted about them in my post for today you will see!
You look like you had a great time, and with Keda too. I don't think I would have like to roll around in the green goo and poop, but my sister PooPoo would have!
Glad to know you. I will add you to my links too....you have some funny posts!

Oh, and that looks like a Canada Goose. I posted about them a while back. I did not know they hiss though!! That is crazy. I don't hiss at all, but my sister PooPoo does...all the time.

oh dogness, Sparky, you & Keda were having some major fun. Keda is not a sissy dog at all. she really knows how to enjoy life. what a smart girl.

you were having a lot of fun too, chasing your ball and playing in the water. that goose/dog/cat/monster looked pretty big and mean though, so it's a good thing you left him alone.

you should be nice to your mailman so he will deliver your package to you. our mom put it in the mail on Monday evening, so we hope it won't take too long to get to you. it's full of surprises and fun! we think you will like it!

woofs!

Sparkeroni Macaroni! I'm always so jealous of your ball chasing, pond dipping, goose spitting jaunts. Well, maybe not the goose part. And now Keda and the poo mold pile? It's like you live in heaven or something, except for the bath part.

Poor Keda!!! I sympathize with her, because something like that happened to me once. Once while walking with my best friend, Tagpi, I found a pile of trash and while Tagpi distracted my mom, I got to roll face first in it. I thought she'd think it was funny, but instead she made me wash all of it off. Serious bummer.

Wow Sparky, you sure lead an interesting life...my Mom plays ball just like you and she puts the ball in the water to wash it off so Gram will keep throwing it for her...me I just keep playing but cooling off in the water is a great idea and we do it all the time when we can. Now poor Keda really looked like she needed a bath and I guess she got one....gee don't know why hoomans don't appreciate those great doggie smells like we do...must be somethin' wrong with their noses....Keep on runnin'

Sparky,

We loved the green dog story -- and the photos of Keda -- green, then all wet -- then a bit earlier, her beautiful self.

We understand how you must have been in love with her!!

We also understand the "snipping" problem -- neither of us has ever even had a girl friend!!!

Woof!!!
