A Rocky Point Park Adventure

Okay guys, I know I've been really bad at keeping up with the blogging world lately, again. Please forgive me... I'll try my hardest not to disappear for so long again!

The real Summer has finally arrived, and it's been about 30 degrees (around 90 Fahrenheit) for the last few days. Let me tell ya, I love the heat, but I have come to realize that it's time for another haircut. I don't like to look to naked, but I suppose it'll be worth it if this kind of weather is gonna stick around for a while! My humans are going to give me a haircut at home today.

Last week, on the longest day of the year, (can you believe the days are getting shorter already?!) we all went to Rocky Point Park to eat lunch and to go for a long walk. I had a grrrrEAT time! Here I am, trying to feel the wind in my fur while we were driving to the park.

After we got there, the humans bought some fish 'n chips and they all sat around a picnic table. Can you see where I was hiding while they ate? I was waiting for the right moment to snatch one of the fries... Just waiting patiently... Getting ready...

Now! Yes, I got it! Mmmm, tasty.

When we finished eating, we started out on our long walk... Here I am trotting ahead of everyone else on the boardwalk.

We came to this beautiful view of the bay... The tide was way out, so there was lots of mucky sand, clay, mud, and fish guts!

I decided to have a little break and sit down on the log.

We set out again, and eventually came to the old ruins of what was once a mill... Here I am, up on top of it!

We explored around this area for a little while... Lots of cool things to check out and pee on!

Here's a few clips put together of me jumping and climbing at the park...

When it was close to the time to go back home, I decided to walk through the sand, clay, mud, and fish guts. I was happily trotting across it when, SPLOOP! Sploop, sploop, sploop, sploop, sploop, sploop. I never realized how easy it was to sink in it, and I had to lift one paw at a time before letting it plop back down into the muck. I was up to my belly in the stuff! It was really hard to walk across! When I finally made it out, all the humans said, "Ewww, yuck! Sparky, why did you do that? You're going strait to the bath tub when we get home!"

It's not that bad, is it? I found that the muck actually felt good on my paws and legs. It felt nice and cool on a hot day!

When I got my bath, the water was all black. I mean, black black. My feet had been completely coated in the muck... It was a shame to wash it all off, I thought it looked and smelled quite good!

That looks like a mighty fine park. I love the tables with the dog holes in them, now that is forward thinking! I am not a big fan of mud but I know how it is when you are so hot that anything that cools you off is appreciated!

Sparky, that picture of you with your head in the hole is hilarious. That park seems wonderful for dogs. I feel quite jealous. Looks like you can walk off-lead and also there is that wonderful boardwalk. Lucky you!

I understand that you didn't want to have a bath cause I bet you smelled soooo yummy!! But think, I bet all that guck on your legs would surely slow you down in agility and we wouldn't want that!

Happy Canada day!

I guess you could say you had a mud bath....funny, but humans actually pay for that sort of treatment, and you got it for free!

Oh Sparky, you always has your own way for getting food from your hooman and its always creative, from the sitting on bowl to the picnic table. Mayb I should make some hole on mom's dinning table too.

The place is beautiful and I like the broadway. You are lucky to get free mud spa for your leg too, those hooman have to pay so much for it.

Sparkie, you always know how to enjoy yourself to the fullest.

I have not gotten real muddy for a long time. The worst I got was being sandy all over when I was at the beach.

Happy Canada Day Sparky!!!

That is the greatest picnic table I've ever seen! Perfect for swiping a snack. You look adorable peeking out of that hole.

It's been hot here and Mommy has insisted on taking me for long walks. I'd rather just lie in front of the fan!

Stay cool!

Wow, what a great way to spend the day!!! And a mud bath on top of it all! Too bad about the bath, Stella thinks all of that mud would have dried in your fur quite nicely and lasted a long time. Sometimes humans just don't understand.

What an exciting day! I loved the picture of you waiting for treats at the picnic table. You looked like a whack-a-mole!!! What a shame you had to wash away all that muck and mud. Every dog dreams of getting paws that dirty and stinky and it all got washed down the drain. At least you have pictures to remember it all by.

much love,
Hero
